SeaTrail is built to work without collecting your personal data. There is no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking.
If you allow it, SeaTrail uses your location on your device to show where you are, set a launch point and record trips. Your location is not sent to us. To get the forecast for a spot, the app asks the weather service (Open-Meteo) for an area about 10 km across, never your exact position.
Saved spots, recent launches, recorded trips, good-day alerts and settings are stored only on your device. Deleting the app deletes them. Trips you export (GPX) or plans you share go through your device's share sheet to the app you choose.
Good-day alerts are worked out on your device and shown as local notifications. No server is involved.
The app downloads tide data from our server, map tiles from the map provider and forecasts from Open-Meteo. Like any website, these services see your IP address and the area of the map being loaded. We do not combine or keep this to identify you.
If a future version adds anything that collects data, such as optional sign-in or analytics, we will update this policy and the App Store privacy label first.
